In 2008, after twenty five years working experience in Geophysical Institute, NIS-Naftagas, where her scientific research was directed to the following topics: Geothermal energy; Environmental geophysics and sustainable management; Hydrogeophysics and CCS, followed by activities related to organization and logistics for conferences, Workshops, training and study visits, but also PR, marketing and public awareness campaign, dr Snezana KOMATINA-PETROVIC became professor and Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Union - Nikola Tesla University, Belgrade.
Among 9 modules related to Environmental Geosciences and Geophysics at undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. studies, she teaches also Geological Storage of CO2 at the Ph.D. level. She is also Visiting Professor at the Department of Natural and Technological Hazards & Ecology at the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (IZIIS), Skopje, FYR Macedonia.
Dr Snezana KOMATINA-PETROVIC is ENeRG National Representative for Serbia since 2006. She is president of Association of Geophysicists and Environmentalists of Serbia (AGES) and Balkan Geophysical Society (2005-2009), as well as member of EAGE (Continuing Education Committee) and SEG (GAC Regional Coordinator for N.Europe). She is also expert in Working Groups: Natural Hazards, Geothermal Energy and CCS of European Federation of Geologists (EFG).
Dr Snezana KOMATINA-PETROVIC has participated in several IGCP and IHP projects, but also in CERGOP-2 (Central European Regional Geodynamic Project) and DREPR (Danube River Enterprise Pollution Reduction Project), financed by World Bank. She is coordinator of the international project Geothermal energy for cities of Serbia, financed by GEF and EC, and of the expert teams for Serbia in the field of Climate Change in SE European Countries (with Joanneum Research, Austria, as leading coordinator) and of the two FP7 projects: (CO2GeoNet/EneRG) Pan-European coordination action on CO2 geological storage and (GEUS/BGS/TNO) Assessment of CO2 storage in Europe. Snezana is also member in the project within program NATO Science for Peace: ESP.EAP.SFPP 983828 (8.2.2010-8.2.2013) Seismic upgrading of bridges in South-East Europe by innovative technologies.

She is author (or coauthor) of six monographs, but also over a hundred of papers published in national and international journals. She has participated in more than 60 international congresses, Workshops and conferences. During the Experts Event related to CCS Energy, Economy & Environment, in May 2009, organized by UNESCO, EnERG and AGES, she signed with Director of UNESCO-BRESCIE Letter of Interest in cooperation in research within CCS between AGES and UNESCO.
